ബര്‍ലിന്‍: ഹാംബര്‍ഗ് തുറമുഖത്തിന് സമീപമുള്ള ഷിപ്പിംഗ് കണ്ടെയ്നറിനുള്ളില്‍ അടുക്കിവെച്ച വാഴപ്പെട്ടിയിലാണ് കൊക്കെയ്ന്‍ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നത്. ആഴ്ചകളോളം രഹസ്യമായി നടത്തിയ അന്വേഷണത്തിനൊടുവിലാണ് മയക്കുമരുന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തിയതെന്ന് പോലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു.

ഗോഡൗണില്‍ നിന്ന് മയക്കുമരുന്ന് പോലീസ് പിടികൂടിയപ്പോള്‍ ഒപ്പം പന്ത്രണ്ട് പേരെയും അറസ്ററ് ചെയ്തു.

തുറമുഖ നഗരമായ ഹാംബര്‍ഗില്‍ പോലീസ് രണ്ട് ടണ്ണിലധികം കൊക്കെയ്ന്‍ പിടിച്ചെടുത്തതിന് ശേഷം നിരവധി പേരെ അറസ്ററ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.മയക്കുമരുന്നിന് ഏകദേശം 100 മില്യണ്‍ യൂറോ വിലയുണ്ടെന്ന് അധികൃതര്‍ കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.

ഹാംബര്‍ഗ് തുറമുഖത്തിന് സമീപമുള്ള റോത്തന്‍ബര്‍ഗ്സോര്‍ട്ട് ജില്ലയില്‍ ഷിപ്പിംഗ് കണ്ടെയ്നറില്‍ പരിശോധന നടത്തിയപ്പോഴാണ് കൊക്കെയ്ന്‍ കണ്ടെത്തിയതെന്ന് പോലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു. അതിനുള്ളില്‍ വാഴപ്പെട്ടിയില്‍ ഒളിപ്പിച്ച നിലയില്‍ കൊക്കെയ്ന്‍ കണ്ടെടുത്തു.

ജര്‍മ്മനി, തുര്‍ക്കി, അഫ്ഗാനിസ്ഥാന്‍, ഇറാഖ്, സിറിയ, അല്‍ബേനിയ, ഇന്ത്യ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള പ്രതികള്‍ 21 നും 43 നും ഇടയില്‍ പ്രായമുള്ളവരാണെന്ന് ജര്‍മ്മന്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്തു. ഇവരില്‍ ചിലര്‍ മയക്കുമരുന്നുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കുറ്റകൃത്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പോലീസിന് അറിയാവുന്നവരാണെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്.മറ്റ് യൂറോപ്യന്‍ രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ക്ക് സൂചന ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും ആഴ്ചകള്‍ നീണ്ട രഹസ്യാന്വേഷണത്തിന് ശേഷമാണ് റെയ്ഡ് നടത്തിയതെന്നും പോലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു.
